HIGH QUALITY BRACE FOR MILD DROP FOOT - Ossur's AFO Light Foot Orthosis is a strong & lightweight walking solution for people with mild to moderate drop foot, which provides adequate energy return and assists the limb to propel forward right at toe off
LIGHTWEIGHT CARBON FIBER CONSTRUCTION - Using Flex-Foot technology and Carbon fiber design that provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio and dynamic motion, this light yet sturdy foot brace has an incredible weight bearing limit of 220 lbs. (100 kg)
FUNCTIONAL & COSMETICALLY APPEALING DESIGN - Eliminating unnecessary bulk, the AFO Light is DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THE FOOT & HEEL WHERE IT IS NEEDED. It allows for gradual plantar flexion at initial contact, & supports the foot for proper ground clearance
EASY TO DON & DOFF - Follow the instructions in the manual for assembling and fitting the AFO, with steps for sliding into the footplate, aligning the posterior strut and strapping the calf loop. This ankle-foot brace can be worn barefoot or with shoes
IMPORTANT SPECIFICATIONS - AFO Light is only meant for mild drop foot secondary to neurological conditions. It is not to be used in case of severe ankle-foot deformities, medial-lateral instability, severe spasticity, extreme activity or fluctuating edema
I have foot drop from radiation therapy on my spine. I am a RN and work 12 hr shifts in a hospital. These braces work. I removed my shoes insole and placed the brace in the shoe then I placed a gel insert on top of it. I had been tripping and falling which is not a good thing to do at work. I feel totally secure wearing these and I haven't tripped or fallen since. I did have to go up in shoe size because the heel part of the brace pushes your foot forward a bit. I'm normally at women's 10.5 and had to go up to 12. Mens shoes also work -just find the right size and a removable insole. My foot drop is mostly in my right foot but my left foot is starting to drop to so i bought the left one too. This helped keep my back and hips in correct alinement. The brace the doctor ordered for my leg was horribly big and bulky. I wore it for 1 hr and had to remove it. If only insurance would pay for these braces!Lightweight, yet uncomfortable. The full foot, including toes made it painful to wear. Had it trimmed to allow toes to be free and much better. Major downfall is the velcro doesn't hold. Needs a better design than sticky tape. I used an industrial glue to keep it in place. On the other side, the hooks are great, but the fabric will be worn out in about 2 months. After the modifications, I would get another. Until it gets designed for comfort, I'd wear a plastic one out of the box for $30.Stroke survivor looking for a non-custom replacement for the crappy one they gave me at the rehab hospital. I also ordered the one with the split back and could not get it on once it was in the shoe. This Ossur AFO LIGHT MEDIUM FIT MY SIZE 10 FOOT AND SNEAKER WELL. They need better instructions on securing the knee strap to the shaft but once we figured out how to keep the two pieces together it is great. Strong, comfortable and the only one I can put in a shoe first and still get my foot into the shoe without crushing my toes, using the AFO almost like a shoe horn. This is the best of the three I have tried on by far even if it is still a little hard to get the velcro knee strap snug with only one hand. Splurge on this one, it is worth it! and good luck with you recovery.good pricenice to have on my deskCouldn't put foot in its was not comfortable so that why I have to send it backI needed a new one for my drop foot.WHile this product didn’t work for me and the issue I had it appears to be a good quality. In addition, the company ProCare when above expectations to try to meet my need before I had a custom one made. Excellent customer service!!
